HAVE A PASSION FOR HORSES?

This programme is above all for people who love horses. Why not embark upon a fabulous adventure by combining your passion with travel. The orientation week gives you a chance to spend all day learning about Australian horse work. Immerse yourself in experiencing the real Aussie lifestyle and culture.

  • Once you begin your job in the equine industry, start to enjoy the benefits of working with horses for 3- 12 months.

  • You may get to experience some of the most exciting equine events in the country including games, sales, matches, races and many more.

  • Make loads of new friends with people who love horses as much as you do.

  • This is an opportunity to meet locals in rural towns and enjoy rodeos, camp drafting competitions, polocrosse, bull riding and barrel racing.

  • Get paid to do what you love doing (including what most of us do dutifully for free such as mucking out, feeding and exercising horses!).

  • This is one of the only programs for horses you’ll find with so much horse association and skills to be learned.

WHAT SORT OF PERSON ARE YOU?

This programme is for people who are open minded, flexible and eager to take advantage of enjoying a new culture, country and way of working with horses.

  • Having a good attitude and a certain amount of confidence will serve you well. Remember however, that this programme is also for those who are looking for a little support along the way. You may not have travelled on your own before and you don’t really know where to start. Employ Equine aim to take the stress, hassle and boring parts of work and travel away by taking care of the paperwork and finding you work in aN unfamilar country. You are then free to enjoy every moment of your time in Australia.

  • Having a good work ethic is very important. We have a duty to our employers to send hardworking, positive and skilled individuals who are representing us as well as themselves.

  • Being flexible with what sort of job you are offered is key. Sometimes the very placement you thought wouldn’t necessarily suit you could actually be perfect, complete with great people, horses and future opportunities. Help us help you by taking advantage of our experience in matching people to placements.

LOOKING FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES?

Whether you are already working in the industry or would just love to learn more about horses, the Employ Equine experience will aid you in broadening and diversifying your equine skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to work with horses ‘the Australian way’ through practical and theoretical means during both your orientation week and in your placement thereafter.

Through working in Australia you will be able to:

  • Enhance your CV with unique work experience.

  • Give yourself time to think about your career path or next move in education or permanent work.

  • Consider the possibility of sponsorship or a career in the Australian equine industry.

  • In many jobs become eligible to apply for a second and third working holiday visa scheme by completing regional work.

  • You will make great friends as well as equine contacts from both Australia and other places from around the world.

  • These are paid positions so it is chance to accumulate some funds to bring home or use for further travel.

  • Employ Equine will provide a job to go to before you leave your home country so you can relax in the knowledge that you will be earning money within the first few weeks or arriving into Australia.

THINKING ABOUT SELF DEVELOPMENT?

One thing is certain; you will come home a different person from the one who left. This is a chance for you to become more mature, knowledgeable and independent. Whatever happens, you will learn something from your experience and become more confident and prepared for future challenges.

  • Everybody returns home with unique stories to tell and a totally new perspective on life. You will meet people who are not like you and learn from them important life skills that you can put into practice going forward.

  • If you make an effort you will meet people from all over the world and great Aussies who you can call friends for life.

  • Take a break from study or work to enjoy and pursue your equine passion. Do something ‘you’ve always wanted to do’ with the confidence that we will be there to support you, 100% of the way.

ALWAYS WANTED TO TRAVEL?

Australia is one of the most visited tourist destinations on the planet. It is a safe, English speaking country where the weather is always fantastic somewhere.

  • Once you have finished working, stay and enjoy the glorious beaches, vast red desserts, tropical rainforests, breath-taking mountains, lush national parks, unique wildlife, picturesque islands, stunning underwater corals and so much more.

  • Lots of job placements will give you the opportunity to explore beautiful local regions that are well off the general beaten track.

  • You could also be travelling to horse events across the state, if not interstate. And what better way to see Aussie country than from the comfort of a horse truck window.

  • Aussies are so friendly that you are bound to meet loads of people at local events and visit them or their relatives from all over the country.

  • This is a perfect chance to escape the winter and head to the other side of the world for a sunny adventure.

  • Hit the ground running for travelling and have money behind you. Rural jobs offer an excellent opportunity to save money as expenses such as food, accommodation and transport are included as part of your wage. This leaves you to save everything you earn for further travel!
